Hello blogger’s ..
I decided to start my post today with a odd story for your entertainment. Keep in mind this is all real~
Weird News
A 95-year-old Chinese woman, thought to be dead and placed in a coffin, terrified her family and neighbors by climbing right out after six long days. Must have scared the living daylights out of her neighbor Mr. Qingwang, who was the first to discover the empty coffin.
Ms. Xiufeng lives alone in her home in China’s Guangxi Province. She had recently suffered a head injury, and Mr. Qingwang found her motionless one morning when he went to give her breakfast. “No matter how hard I pushed her and caller her name, she had no reactions,” he said. “I felt something was wrong, so I tried her breath, and she has gone but her body was still warm.” So believing her to be dead, Mr. Qingwang and his son made funeral preparations, placing the old woman’s body in a coffin. Fortunately, in Chinese tradition the coffin is retained for several days, until family and friends pay their respects. Also, he chose not to nail the box shut until the day of burial. So a day before the funeral, the box was discovered empty, and the corpse was gone. Alarmed, they searched for the missing body everywhere, and where do they discover Ms. Xiufeng? In the kitchen, cooking herself a meal. Now if it were me, I would have run for my life if I saw a corpse cooking food. But no, turns out she hadn’t died at all. According to a county hospital, what she suffered was an artificial death – where the person doesn’t breathe but the body is still warm. It’s a good thing that coffin wasn’t nailed shut. But unfortunately for Ms. Xuifeng, she is left with nothing now. All her possessions were burnt according to the Chinese tradition for the dead. I don’t suppose she’s complaining, though.
Here is a book cover that was really freaking scary …Check out I give it 5 stars just for the art of the cover.
Apocrypha Sequence: Deviance
Explore the darkness within the human heart … Set foot inside the morgue at Stratton Memorial Hospital, a place where the scales of life and death have tipped in the wrong direction, and wander the city beyond, where fantasies of sex, drugs, and violence can become frighteningly real. Redemption may be found under a scalpel, in an alley, or sometimes, by embracing the darkest corner of the soul.
The Apocrypha Sequence is a series of dark fantasy collections with interwoven themes and interconnected stories from Shane Jiraiya Cummings, Australia’s master of the macabre. Also in the Apocrypha Sequence: Divinity, Inferno, and Insanity.
Now I have been searching for some Zombie titles to read. I discovered a series that I cant believe that I didn’t see it sooner.

But one fateful day, the gate failed and the Inferi Scourge destroyed the human settlements outside the walls and trapped the survivors inside the city. Now decades later, the last remaining humans are struggling to survive in a dying city as resources and hope dwindle.

Shannon Mayer is a new author coming in to the scene with Zombie fiction titles ,.. (Nevermore Trilogy )
Sundered (Nevermore Trilogy, #1)
A miracle drug, Nevermore, spreads like wildfire throughout the world allowing people to eat what they want, no matter how unhealthy it is and yet still lose weight. It is everything the human population has ever dreamed of and Mara is no different. Only a simple twist of fate stops her from taking the drug.
As the weeks roll by, it becomes apparent that Nevermore is not the miracle it claimed. A true to life nightmare, the drug steals the very essence that makes up humanity and unleashes a new and deadly species on the world, a species bent on filling its belly. Locked down within their small farm home, Mara and her husband Sebastian struggle against increasingly bad odds, fighting off marauders and monsters alike.
But Sebastian carries a dark secret, one that more than threatens to tear them apart, it threatens to destroy them both and the love
they have for each other.
The secret forces Mara to make the ultimate choice. Will she live for love, or will she live to survive?
Bound (Bk.2)
Rumors and whispers of a cure have reached Mara’s ears and hope that has been denied for so long begins to grow once more. But, if she is to find the cure, to help Sebastian, she must face down a whole new set of dangers.
A sadistic army General who’s hatred knows no bounds.
A brilliant scientist whose love for his lost wife drives him to madness.
And a new pack of Nevermore .
There is also a 3rd to the sequel in which I will get to, but let explain to you about the frustrations I went threw just to get the book. The only place that I could locate it was Amazon for the kindle. Well I do not have one .So what are those who don’t have one suppose to do. Not even for the Nook and of course that was the only other form of format I had. Let me stress I do have the kindle for PC on my desk top. But who really wants to sit on a computer to read? I very well don’t . So I hunted the author down, to ask her how can I get a copy. She was one of the NICEST people I ever talk to. She is actually going to send me a paperback copy threw the mail . So then I can review it for my blog and I can also just catalog it and put it on the library shelf . Because remember I am a Librarian asst. So this would also be a great way to get her out there and known. I thought this is the least that I could do for her. Thanks again Shannon.
How is my Zombie lovers out there tonight? One thing that does set me apart from my fellow blog friends is that I happen to like my posting my book posts at night! I kind of feel it goes with with my theme. ![]()
Take a look at my babies ,there getting in the way of my monthly Story Siren Mailbox’s pick.
Titles I’m reading !
1. The Immortal Rules ( Blood Of Eden bk.1) by Julie Kagawa
( I just cracked this bad boy open and WOW)
2. Anne Rice The Wolf Gift
(by the way ,yes I am going back on my first review on The Wolf Gift. Only because I
really think I need to reread it.
3.The Restorer by Amanda Stevens
4.13 Bullets by David wellington
5. Jennifer Weiner , Good In Bed
Tonight we are going to talk about David Wellington . I really feel this author doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. Seriously !!!
I just started 13 Bullets this week , but I have read his other titles that were Awesome. Such as Monster Island which is about zombies taking over. There are 3 in that series . Then I read Frostbite which is about werewolves ,in that series there are 2 . Another one that I love .
13 Bullets
All the official reports say they are dead-extinct since the late ’80s, when a fed named Arkeley nailed the last vampire in a fight that nearly killed him. But the evidence proves otherwise.
When a state trooper named Caxton calls the FBI looking for help in the middle of the night, it is Arkeley who gets the assignment-who else? He’s been expecting such a call to come eventually. Sure, it has been years since any signs of an attack, but Arkeley knows what most people don’t: there is one left. In an abandoned asylum she is rotting, plotting, and biding her time in a way that only the undead can.
Caxton is out of her league on this case and more than a little afraid, but the fed made it plain that there is only one way out. But the worst thing is the feeling that the vampires want more than just her blood. They want her for a reason, one she can’t guess; a reason her sphinxlike partner knows but won’t say; a reason she has to find out-or die trying.
Now there are only 13 bullets between Caxton and Arkeley and the vampires. There are only 13 bullets between us, the living, and them, the damned.
Now here is a title that might be worth it to you .
With Ali DeGray
“Are you back, Angelique?”
He waits in his library, alone, drawing back curtains on memories of love so many years lost. Reports of dead men, bloodless, all eerily similar, tell Vincent the tale. Stalking in shadows, she seeks him.
Will she have him still?
Told first in Helen A Rosburg’s poem “Angelique,” the story of Angelique and Vincent’s undying love now comes to resplendent life in this novelette illustrated by Cherif Fortin and Lynn Sanders and offered in animated-book format. With its beautiful prose and breathtaking images, this instant classic vampire story will haunt and delight readers for eternity.

Todays pick is by Author , Elle James . Title of the series is
( Mid Night Dragon Fly )
Shattered dreams Bk.1
Sixteen-year-old Trinity Monsour wants nothing more than to live a normal life. But that isn’t as easy as it seems. Trinity is different. She is special. She sees visions, and for those she’s seen, it’s already too late.
Trinity arrives on her aunt’s doorstep in New Orleans with virtually no knowledge of her mysterious heritage. She begins settling into life at a new school and even starts making friends. But all too quickly her dreams accelerate; twisted, terrifying visions of a girl locked in a dark room. And when the head cheerleader, Jessica, goes missing, Trinity knows she has no choice but to step forward with what she’s seen.
But people believe that Trinity has information about Jessica’s disappearance not because of a dream, but because she is involved. She is kind-of dating Jessica’s ex-boyfriend, Chase, and Jessica did pull a nasty prank on Trinity. Revenge seems like the likeliest scenario.
Nothing prepares Trinity for the dark odyssey that ensues while searching for Jessica, including the surprising romance she finds with Chase, or the shocking truths she learns, not just about the girl who has gone missing, but the past that has been hidden from her.
Broken Illusions Bk.2
It’s Mardi Gras, but for 16 year-old psychic Trinity Monsour this is no time for celebration. Another girl is missing. Haunted by visions she doesn’t understand—of an empty street lined by crumbling old buildings, a terrified voice warning her to be careful, and a body lying motionless in the grass–Trinity embarks upon a dark odyssey she could never have imagined. She’ll stop at nothing to better understand her abilities, convinced that doing so is the only way she can make sure the terrifying images she sees never actually happen.
But it seems everyone wants to stop her. Her aunt is worried Trinity might discover secrets best left in the past. Her best friend, Victoria, is afraid Trinity is slipping away, her boyfriend, Chase, fears she’s taking too many chances, and the lead detective will barely let her out of his sight. Only one person stands by her side, and in doing so, he slips deeper and deeper into her heart—and her dreams—blurring the lines of reality and illusion.
When the dust settles, one of them will be dead.
Fragile Darkness Bk.3
How do you stop someone you can’t see?
For as long as she can remember, sixteen-year-old psychic Trinity Monsour has seen things before they happen.
But now, in the wake of tragedy, her visions have gone dark. She can still feel, though, and the danger she senses swirling around a new friend sends her into the New Orleans party scene, where nothing is as it seems, surprises wait at every turn, and the last guy she wants to see is the one she needs the most: the mercurial Dylan Fourcade, part stranger, part friend, part so much more.
It’s the so much more that confuses her. How can she be drawn to someone she barely knows?
But whether she wants him there or not, he’s by her side, shadowing her every step of the way, until the darkness clears, and a shocking truth emerges—a truth that changes everything

The First Days was named one of the Best Zombie Books of the Decade by the Harrisburg Book Examiner. AmericanHorrorBlog calls Rhiannon Frater “a writer to watch.”
The morning that the world ends, Katie is getting ready for court and housewife Jenni is taking care of her family. Less than two hours later, they are fleeing for their lives from a zombie horde.
Thrown together by circumstance, Jenni and Katie become a powerful zombie-killing partnership, mowing down zombies as they rescue Jenni’s stepson, Jason, from an infected campground.
They find sanctuary in a tiny, roughly fortified Texas town. There Jenni and Katie find they are both attracted to Travis, leader of the survivors; and the refugees must slaughter people they know, who have returned in zombie form.
